The Scuba Diver course is a subcourse of the PADI Open Water Diver course, with specialised training from experienced PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) instructors. The course comprises of 3 segments:-
1. Theory
This part of the course involves a certain amount of home study using the PADI Open Water Manual and Video. Both are divided into five modules (of which the student must complete the first 3) with knowledge reviews to be completed at the end of each module. You will then review the knowledge reviews with your instructor in class and complete a small quiz before moving onto the swimming pool classes.
2. Confined Water
The confined water requirement of the course is completed by attending 2 pool sessions, designed to introduce you to scuba equipment and safe diving practices whilst practicing your skills in a controlled environment under the close supervision of your PADI Instructor. Giving you the necessary skills and confidence to move onto the Open Water training dives required to complete the course.
3. Open Water Training Dives
To complete the course you are required to complete two actual dives, under the supervision of your Instructor. This gives you essential skill practice in a diving environment as well as valuable supervised diving experience.
The course includes Open Water Diver manual, full use of dive equipment whilst training, tuition, air & certification.
Having completed the course you are then certified as a PADI Scuba Diver. This is a qualification recognised in over 175 countries with PADI being responsible for 75% of world-wide diver training. As a certified scuba diver you can then purchase diving equipment, dive with a PADI Divemaster or higher qualification to a maximum depth of 12m in an environment similar or better to that in which you have been trained.
